Manali weather in January

Manali is one of best destination in Himachal Pradesh famous for snowy mountains and adventure sports. Manali weather stays cold and glacial in the month of January. Cold weather always increases the tourism activities in Manali valley. This is the best time to visit as you can see snow all around Manali town. Beautiful snowy peaks of mountains, natural waterfall, and cold breeze increase the adventure and pleasure during stay in Manali.

Temperature history

Temperature of Manali remains at chilling level during all weeks of January. Maximum temperature ranges 10 O C to 15 O C. Minimum temperatures fluctuate within the range of 0 O C to – 3 O C. It is too cold at night that you would need cover yourself quilt ( Rajai) and blanket together. Rainfall level is not much but it starts drizzle before snowfall or during snowfall sometimes. At the time snowfall, average temperature falls to zero every so often.

Activities

You can also try winter sports like skiing, snowmobile, snow sliders at Solang Valley in January. Paragliding can also be done at Solang Valley in winters. Other than these activities like Zorbing, Yak riding, Horse riding is usual and worth a try in Manali.  You can enjoy a walk in Van Vihar at Manali, it feels good to walk in the forest surrounded by a lot of snow.

Travel Tips

Manali weather is very cold in the month of January, you need pack yourself with warm clothes. Warm clothing starts from socks to cap required to enjoy in the snow. Warm thermal, socks, leather gloves, muffler, high neck sweater and jackets are must to put in this month. Leather gloves and snow boots are must to wear while travelling the deep snow areas like Solang Valley. Book your hotel and resort in advance because of high influx of tourist in Manali. Otherwise it could be hard to find a proper accommodation.
