Shimla heritage walk to Vice Regal Lodge
Shimla heritage walk starts from the Christ Church and ends at Viceregal Lodge, now Indian Institute of Advanced Study. This walk covers beautiful architectures of Shimla town. This walk goes through a paved urban road. On the way, you would cover the Gaiety Theater, Scandal Point, General Post Office, Bantony hill, Kalibari temple, Railway Board Building, Vidhan Sabha, Gordan Castle, The Cecil Hotel, India Radio Shimla and Indian Institute of Advanced Study. The total distance of this walk is 3.7 km one side. It takes 40 minutes to 1 hour one side on this walk.
Mall road to Chadwick fall
This walk is over one of the longer trail of Shimla. It will give you a taste of rural areas around Shimla. This route is 6 km from the Mall road. Total this is 12 km route. Total time would be 5 to 6 hours to cover this route. You should start this walk early morning so you can get back to Mall road after lunch.
On the way, you can see the General Post Office, Telegraph Office Building, Kalibari Temple, Railway Board Building, Vidhan Sabha, The Cecil hotel, Chora Maidan, Summer Hill, Sangti Village and Village Snog and The Chadwick fall.
Ridge to Cemetery
This is also a nice walk starts from Ridge ground and end at old British Cemetery at Sanjauli. Sanjauli cemetery has approximately 500 graves. Notable British people buried here during Raj. Now this cemetery used by Christian Indians. Round distance of this walk is 7.2 km. It is 3.6 km one way and slightly on a slope. It would take 4 to 5 hours to cover this walk.
On the way, notable places are Lakkar Bazar, Snowdone hospital (IGMC), Sanjauli Bazar and Cemetery.
Mall Road to Glen
This walk starts from the Mall road to unpaved trails of glen forest area. Glen forest is a thick forest area of pine, deodar, and oak between Summer Hill and Chora Maidan. This walk is of 3.2 km from the Mall road. Total round trip is 6.5 km. You should spare 4 to 5 hours to trek this walk.
On the way, monuments are Telecom building, Railway Board Building, Gordan Castle, Vidhan Sabha, Kumar house and Glen forest.
Mall road to Annadale
This walks is another good trail to Annadale. Annadale is open ground British used for various games. Annadale is mainly known for helipad of government officials. This walk distance is 3.2 km one side and total 3.6 km. Total time should be around 4 to 5 hours to cover this trail.
The Mall Road, Kali Bari Temple, Railway Board Building, Circular Road, Kaithu, are the on the way places. You would reach Annadale by a sloppy trail after Kaithu.
High court to Chotta Shimla
This route starts from High Court barrier to Chotta Shimla. Himachal Pradesh secretariat located at Chotta Shimla. The distance of this walk is 2.5 km from High Court and 5 km for a round trip. You should spare 3 to 4 hours to cover this route.
On the way, places are the High Court, Hotel Marina, Chief Minister residence, Hotel Wood Villa Palace and Chotta Shimla

This walks starts from Ridge ground to the top of Jakhoo hill. It is 2.5 km of walk on a sharp slope. It takes 45 minutes to cover this route one way.
Kamna Temple Trail
This walk starts from Boileuganj to Kamna Devi temple. It is 1.5 km of walk through shady road. It takes 30 minutes to reach on the top. A spectacular view is available from the top of the hill.
Tara Devi Temple Trail
This trail starts from Tara Devi bus stop to Tara Devi temple. The distance of this trail is 3 km one way and 6 km for round trip. This walk is among a thick forest of deodar and oak.
