Sankat Mochan temple
Sankat Mochan temple located at a distance of 5 km from Shimla. Sankat Mochan temple height is 1975 meters from the sea level. This temple devoted to Lord Hanuman. Temple situated at the foothill of Shimla town. A spectacular view of Shimla town is available from above the Langar hall of the temple. You would see the traffic of brand new vehicles to the temple. Local people take their brand new vehicles for Puja. Langar organized here every Sunday inside the premises.
Kali Bari Temple
Kalibari temple located at the western side of Scandal point. It takes a five-minute walk from Scandal point Mall road to Kali Bari temple. The temple made in 1845 during British time. Its been the shrine for Bengali people from the 19th century. This temple devoted to Shyamala Devi incarnation of Goddess Kali. Shimla city derived its name from the word “Shyamala”.
A large of Bengali flock visit this temple during Diwali and Durga Puja. Navratri is also one occasion when a lot of people pay obeisance to Goddess Kali. You can visit this temple at the time of your visit to the Mall road. A nice view of Shimla town is available from the open space in front of the temple.
Jakhoo temple
Jakhu temple located on the height point of Shimla city at an altitude of 2,455 meters. Jakhoo temple devoted to Lord Hanuman. A paved 2.5 km walk gets ahead to Jahoo temple from the ridge ground. A magnificent view of Shimla city is there to view from the back side of the temple. Recently, a ropeway has made between US club to Jakhu hill. You can visit the temple using this ropeway. 150 feet statue of Lord Hanuman is also one attraction of Jakhoo temple.
Tara Devi Temple
Tara Devi temple located 19 km southern side of the Shimla city. A paved road is there to visit temple from Shoghi Bazar. Alternatively, a trekking route of 3 km from Taradevi is also there. Buses are available to Taradevi temple from old bus stand. You can also hire a taxi to visit the temple. Every Sunday frequency of HRTC buses increased to the temple. Tara Devi temple situated on the highest elevation between Shoghi and Taradevi station. A 360-degree view of Shimla town is there to view from the temple. Accommodations are available at Shoghi or Anandpur to stay near the temple. You can plan a full day visit to the temple.
